The Full Recipe
🛒 Ingredients
- 4 cups of 10% cream (use clean, additive-free cream)
- 2 tablespoons of inulin powder (a prebiotic to feed the bacteria)
- 2 tablespoons of L. reuteri yogurt starter OR 10 L. reuteri tablets crushed into powder
- Clean glass container or jar
- Yogurt maker that maintains a steady 100°F (38°C)
🧼 IMPORTANT First Step: Sterilize Everything!
To ensure the probiotic bacteria thrive and no bad bacteria interfere, sterilize all tools, jars, and mixing utensils using boiling water. Let them air dry fully before use. Watch our YouTube video if you feel unsure.
🥣 Instructions
- Combine Ingredients:
In a sterilized bowl, mix the cream with the inulin and either the starter or crushed L. reuteri tablets. - Mix Gently:
Stir well until the inulin is fully dissolved and the mixture is smooth. - Pour Into Maker:
Transfer the mixture into the sterilized yogurt maker. - Ferment:
Place the jar in your yogurt maker and ferment at 100°F (38°C) for 36 hours. Keep it sealed and undisturbed during this time. Humidity build up is normal. - Chill and Store:
After fermenting, move the jar to the fridge and chill. The yogurt will thicken slightly.
